Course Content
The course presents the measurement of intrinsic properties of astrophysical sources from observable quantities, through the modeling of modern observational data across different wavelengths, as well as within the framework of multimessenger astrophysics. It employs both individual models and statistical methodologies for interpreting observational data and solving inverse problems, using state-of-the-art tools of astrostatistics, Bayesian analysis, and machine learning. It introduces methods for handling big data. It provides the basis for preparing competitive observing proposals for telescopes, which require both the conversion of physical quantities into observable quantities and an understanding of the laws governing this conversion.
