The research in Environmental Physics-Meteorology focuses on the physical processes and dynamics at various time and space scales. Through modelling, remote sensing, statistical and experimental approaches on the basis of physics (radiation and energy budget, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics) we conduct research into extreme weather and climatic phenomena, future climate projections under global warming conditions and climatic change, numerical weather prediction, air pollution, the role of meteorology in air quality, physical oceanography, interaction between ocean and atmosphere, cloud physics and interaction with aerosols, atmospheric boundary layer dynamics, urban and built environment, with emphasis on the adaptation to climate change and finally renewable energy sources.
