Department of Physics

The Department of Physics offers three postgraduate programs:

• “Physics”, with specializations in the Physics of Materials, Nuclear and Particle Physics, and Astrophysics.
• “Applied Physics”, with specialization in Environmental Physics.
• An Interdepartmental program, jointly with the NKUA Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, with specializations in Electronics and Radioelectrology, and in  Control and Computing.

ONLINE SERVICES

In addition, the Department of Physics is participating in the following interdepartmental and interinstitutional postgraduate programs:

• “Oceanography and Management of the Marine Environment”, with specializations in Biological Oceanography, in Geological Oceanography, in Physical Oceanography and in Chemical Oceanography. This program is offered jointly with the NKUA Departments of Biology, Geology and Chemistry.
• “Nautical and Marine Technology and Science”. This program is offered jointly with five Schools of the National Technical University of Athens (School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Rural, Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences) and the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research.
• “Medical Physics – Radiation Physics”. This program is offered jointly with five Departments of Medicine (NKUA School of Medicine, Department of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of Medicine of the Democritus University of Thrace, Department of Medicine of the University of Ioannina and Department of Medicine of the University of Crete) and in collaboration with the Hellenic Atomic Energy Committee and the Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”.
• “Space Technologies, Applications and seRvices – STAR”, with specializations in Space Applications and Services. This program is offered jointly with the NKUA Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, and the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras.
